Hi everyone! My name is Maliheh Zafarnezhad and I am an Irish-Iranian artist based in UK and I am going to take over this page as a part of The Creatiive Incubator Program with @lungsproject. I am a resident of @artsgatewaymk at the moment and my studio is in Milton Keynes with a 45 mins drive from London. My mixed media artworks are a constant pursuit of the best way to represent what I feel as an artist in diaspora with the inspiration of my identity, mixed culture and my childhood memories. I will post everyday from March 6th to March 20th about my artistic career and the progress of my work.

Here is the progress of transferring the image I have digitally manipulated on a small canvas. @maliheh_zafarnezhad
The process of transferring a manipulated image to a canvas. I'm quite happy with what it is now but I may add some paint to it as well. @maliheh_zafarnezhad music: Derakht by @commentbandofficial #malihehzafarnezhad #artistinresidence #lungsproject #creativeincubator #lungs2019 #workinprogress #art #artiststudio #ukart #oldphoto #phototransfer #emergingartist #canvas #commentband
Untitled, photo transfer and acrylic on canvas. Despite the meaning of this work which has nothing to do with #chaharshanbesoori but accidentally it coincides with the tradition tonight. Chahar Shanbe Suri is an Iranian festival celebrated on the eve of the last Wednesday before Nowruz (the Iranian New Year). On the eve of last Wednesday of the year, literally the eve of Red Wednesday or the eve of celebration, bonfires are lit in public places with the help of fire and light, it is hoped for enlightenment and happiness throughout the coming year. People leap over the flames, shouting: (Sorkhi-e to az man) Give me your beautiful red color (Zardi-e man az to) And take back my sickly pallor! #iranchambersociety @maliheh_zafarnezhad
